| When to stat a new puppy on a different food? Hi everyone! Whit comes home next Friday, and we are pretty much ready for her aside from the food issue, and I have a few questions about that. Our breeder uses Iams smart puppy small breed formula, and I know this isn't really that swell of a food so I plan to switch her to either TOTW (not sure which variety would be best...?) or Blue Buffalo puppy, as I can get both locally and have read good things about both. My question is, when is a good time to start introducing her to the new food? I know I'm not supposed to do it right away as she is adjusting to being in her new home, so I will have to buy a bag of the Iams. Would she be ready to switch by the time that bag of Iams is running low, orobefore? Our vet is a SD pusher, so I don't really trust his opinion on the food issue. Thanks!

| a normal process is about a week or so i hear. i would keep feeding iams for the first week so the puppy gets adjusted to the new home. then during 2nd week id start the process of slowly weaning out hte iams by mixing with the new food.
