| Leila - peeing while sleeping and around house Hi everyone..This is my first posting, but have been helped with many issues when checking YT before. Leila is our baby! She will be 2 in April. Unfortunately, February hasn't been her month. She got an ear infection at the beginning of February and her whole schedule changed a week later. My husband, who used to work afternoon shift, started a day shift job. Poor Leila, who was alone no longer than 2-3 hours a day now is alone some days for 8 hours. She was totally clean beforehand, to the point of folding her pee pad if she went on it. She has peed herself 3 times while sleeping, and just peed right in front of me on the carpet! Took her to the vet yesterday to check for UTI, did complete urinalysis and everything is fine. No crystals, infection or bacteria in her urine at all. He seems to think that it might be behavioural due to the change of being left alone, but why, then, is she doing it on the weekends as well? She seems truly upset when caught. Can't imagine that she's doing it during her sleep on purpose. She has free run of the house when we're out and has never destroyed anything...toys are on the couch which indicates that she's playing during the day. I'm beside myself at this point. It's not often, but I want to ensure that she's happy and healthy and am at a complete loss. |

| Xray done? At what age was she spayed? Vet recommend a trial of Proin?

| No X-ray done. She was spayed at around 10 months, after her first heat. Gave nothing for us other than to try coming home at lunch and see how it goes. He seems to think it's more behavioural due to being left alone so long now and that retraining might be in order. I just want to ensure that it's nothing medical, and will come home during my lunch to let her out. It's been really cold here and she's not been going on too many walks as well. |

| If she's peeing in her sleep that is definitely NOT behavioral. Most likely stress incontinence. Last edited by lillymae; 02-27-2011 at 10:46 PM. |
