| Family is worried (update feb 28) Hello guys I have a yorkie named charlie and his about 7 months old. The problem we having is that his not really eating we gotta feed him with out hands like a baby! thats not cool. Also since he likes being fed by us with our hands. most of the time he just not eating on his own. Now this is the real issue my mom noticed that his beginning to pee really heavy in colour yellow all the time. So what could the problem be? Monday he will be going to the vet, but at the moment i want a peace of mind and know that he mid be sick but not the point to die. So i wanna know why the heavy yellow pee. And we want him to eat his own food also his begining not to eat his own DOG food at all he wants human food. yah i know we wasnt suppost to feed him that but he wouldnt eat all.. thanx in advance. this is Charlie below http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...Picture160.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...LIEDE16C04.jpg Last edited by Dedicated_uno; 02-28-2005 at 04:40 PM. | I tried to find more info in my Yorkie book about Charlie's urine being off color but it doesn't show anything about "a heavy yellow color". It mainly refers to cloudy or bloody urine. I wish I could have given you better information regarding this. I am glad he will be going to the vet soon. Let us know how his visit goes.

| Is he getting enough water? I know when people are dehydrated their pee becomes darker. I would watch to see how much he drinks. If he is not drinking a lot I would suggest getting a syringe and giving him water that way. You could also get plain Pedialite. I used pedialite when Tinker was sick and wouldn't eat or drink anything. It worked very well. Hope this helps. |

| Not sure what it could be but you're smart to have already made a vet appointment to have him checked out. Let us know how it goes and how he's doing!

| I know that there are different flavors and such, but get whatever one is just plain. I don't think Tinker liked it, but when she was sick it brought her out of it in like 5 min. It's good stuff =) This could also be the reason why he is not eating. You know when you are really thirsty when you eat something salty? If you don't have something to drink you don't want to keep eating the salty food, just like their food is kind of salty. So maybe his not eating has to do with being dehydrated. Hope this works. | If you can't find Pedialite this weekend, you can also give put sugar or honey in his water (not too much) to entice him to drink water. It may help as well. Hope the vet will tell you more what is wrong with your little guy on Monday. |
