| Dry Itchy skin. HELP! My Yorkie is approaching 9 months and since the day I can remember has had itchy, dry, flaky skin. I have tried one brand of fish oil in his food, and have switched my shampoo and conditioner to an oatmeal gentle formula. Along with his dry skin, I have noticed that he chews and licks his front legs quite a bit and scratches his face and ears more than usual. Now, to me of course this sounds like some kind of an allergy, but I have no idea! I have switched my dogs food from Iams puppy to Blue Buffalo and nothing has changed. If anyone could give me some suggestions on what has worked for their puppy's dry skin that would be greatly appreciated! I realize that much of the answer to dry skin is trial and error and every dogs experience with one product may be a little different, but at this point Im frustrated! Help! |

| Both of my boys were itching and chewing until my vet recommended Vet Solutions Universal Medicated Shampoo. I know this sounds like a commercial, but it really helped and now their coats are growing out soft and shiny. I put a little fish oil on their noon time kibble, too.

| Kenzie was all itchy and licking her paws too. We even took her to the vet and he gave her Bactrim and a cortisone shot, and the itchies were still there. We stopped giving her rawhide and other commercial treats and use Cheerios, organic chicken and veggies instead, thank God, the itchies are gone for good. We've been using this oatmeal/honey and wheat germ shampoo for puppies and the Crazy Dog grooming spray, dont know if its helped, but she isnt shedding like she did when she was itchy and her coat and skin are healthy now. Hope your baby gets better soon.
