| raw teets... as some of you know, Sophie had one pup about 2 weeks ago. the pup always nurses on Soph's top 2 teets. the teets are raw, red and the hair is coming out around the nipples. i have to place the pup & soph on the couch near me and cover the top teets w/my had to force the pup to nurse elsewhere. has anyone ever had this happen before and what did you do? |

| Sometimes the raw teets are caused by the puppy claws, when they kneed the breast to make the milk flow. Try cutting the little toe nails.

| Just make sure that they nurse on the raw ones some so they don't get engorged

| OK not sure about puppy experience but from human experience (I have a baby girl) lanolin is a dream. Seems reasonable that you could use it on dogs and it's totally safe for babies (Lansino brand). Perhaps some lanolin will ease the sore nipples ....
