| Picky Eater My 3 month old yorkie, Kotaro since experiencing canned food (a little bit of cat food and canned dog food) does not want to eat his dry food. We would mix the canned (1 teaspoon) with the dry food to feed him. He eats but prefer eating from my wife's hand. If we don't do it like this HD does not eat? What should i do? If I leave the food and take it away if he does not eat he might be hungry and at this age his growing age I don't want to starve him. Please advise. |

Right now the main thing to do is get him to eat... I have the most picky Yorkie even known to man kind it seems, so i understand... At 12 weeks old you dont want his blood sugar to drop... If he want to eat wet food then give him wet food... Dont let him eat cat food... What food are you feeding him?

| Picky Eater Initially I fed him with Innovo puppy canned food and he liked it at first and decides that he did nit want to eat that as it only cane in one flavor. I tried Evo with the same result. Now I gave him the fibre diet for dogs made by Medi Cal which he likes so far. I have also tried at the beginning mixing the P/D food from Science Diet which is a prescription diet available from the vet only with his dry and he liked it at first but became picky about it so I went to the fibre diet and mixing it with the PD diet. He prefers the fibre so where on that. Maybe there is a special way to feed my picky eating baby. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | We have also tried alot too.. even PD wet.... Right now we feed Izzy Natures Variety raw and alittle kibble through out the day heres why? It's the only thing she like... The raw piece are so rich that she only eats 1.5 of them. then eatd abouts 1/4 c. of kibble... But she is 7 lbs.. so your baby would not need that much. That was my last resort.. BUT I wish I had started feeding that first.. Its the best for them and NV now do a pasteurizaion process so I don't worried about feeding raw.. Its very safe... She eats the raw in the morning... If you dont want to go raw, the Natures balance has those dog food rolls that shes liked too...For about a month that all she would eat and some cooked plain chicken... Also remember that their tummys are very small.. therefor they need to eat little meals every 2 hours or so... at least offer her something... she may only eat 1 teaspoon worth at a time

| Thank you Thanks for your advise. I will get the Natures canned food and let her dry. You mentioned food roll is that also prepared by Nature's Variety? |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | The food roll is made by Natural Balance... The raw brand that I like is Natures Variety.... 2 different companies both have great produces BUT the boss ( Izzy) like Nature's Variety raw the best
