| Hi, Because your baby is small I would use about 1 teaspoon in the food and mix it up. But first are you sure that your pup isn't sick? Giardia and Coccidia are somewhat common in pups and can be very serious if not taken care of and diahrea is a symptom. I hope your baby feels better soon.

| Well, usually if they have just come home with you they will be nervous and getting used to their new surroundings so it is not uncommon to have loose stools. But if they get full on diarrhea and sometimes even explosive diarrhea then that is definitely not normal. Are you going to take your new baby in for a vet wellness check? Then you can let the vet know what's been happening and you might want to bring in a tiny stool sample so they can test it.

| Oh, I forgot to say that with puppies you really can't feed too much. You want to feed them 4 or 5 times a day, depending on their size they might need a night feeding. They can get hypoglycemic if they don't eat and are very small, how much does your baby weigh?? Also, if you want to change the food you have to mix in a tiny amount of the new food with the old and everyday add alittle more new food until you have switched the puppy over. You don't want to switch all at once because that could cause loose stools also.

| I read some of your other posts and I am confused is your little girl 6 weeks old or 8 weeks old?? It makes a difference because at 6 weeks I would definitely bring her to the vet right away if she is vomiting like you said and had watery poop outside. A 6 week old should not be taken outside. You also say she's had 2 sets of shots, how could that be? Even at 8 weeks old you wouldn't have 2 sets of shots. Kind of confused and it is hard to give you advice when there are conflicting facts.

| it is a very looong story! im sorry if i caused confusion!!! here it goes: i bought my yorkie from a girl that was in my boyfriends class.. she assured him that she was 6 weeks old so we believed her. When we went to get her she still said she was 6 weeks and that her registration papers would come in soon. (i still have not gotten those) once she was in my house i called the girl and asked her when her birthday was and she said June 16 so then we got her at 7 weeks! and now she is 8... she also gave me a little booklet with the name of her vet and the shots she had taken she took one 07.17.10 that says.. CANINE DISTEMPER-PARVOVIRUS VACCINE and then the other one was 07.31.10 and that one says- CANINE DISTEMPER- ADENOVIRUS TYPE 2 PARVOVIRUS VACCINE... i was very mad at the lady for lying and now i was doing things that i was supposed to do for a 6 week old to a 7 week old! and so on! |
