| Microchip brand? I was wondering what brand of microchip you use for your babies. Sophie's is with 24PetWatch because that's what the center uses, but I've been reading on other dog sites that a lot of people use HomeAgain. Has anyone used either brand? |

| Miloh got microchipped about 4 days ago & he is registered to HomeAgain. It seems to be the popular brand. I was reading on the website that you can register any microchip, as long as you have the number. $16 annually isn't a bad deal either. |

| I think Jackson's is AKC-something or the other.

| We have AVID. I can't say whether they are "good" or not because I've never lost my pet! But generally speaking we have had no problems. |

| Levi is microchipped with resQ (petlink). I'm pretty pleased with the company, but thankfully, I have never really had to use them other than registration and such. There is no annual fee, you register your pet's info online and manage your account (address, vet info, photos) through a login.

| Kaji is chipped with HomeAgain. My subscription is up so it's time to pay $16.

| Question: for the brands with an annual subscription cost, if your pet is lost and your time has lapsed by like a week...your pet's info isn't on file? I didn't realize that many brands had annual fees, so I'm not sure how that works.

| That's a good question. As far as I know, his chip will still work even if I don't pay the fee. There are just extra perks to paying. They send the equivalent of an amber alert to all vets, shelters, and rescues that they know if my pup were to get lost. Whereas, if I don't pay, I'll just have to wait and hope someone takes him in to be scanned.
