| Excited Cough like noise My baby is almost 2. When she gets excited or sometimes not, she does this dry cough sound. Just for a minute. I thought I had read something about this being normal in some small breeds but now I'm wanting to check to see if any of your yorkies do it?? Can anyone explain?

| It could be reverse sneezing which is harmless or it could be the start of collapsed trachea which is serious. It should be brought to a vets attention just so they can check it out

| My guess would be a reverse sneeze too. Did you take a look at the videos in the link that Alldogboots gave? The kind of get hunched over and put their head down when they do it. I pick mine up and gently blow into their nose and it makes them stop when they swallow.

| Thanks Guys! i checked out the videos...Poor dogs!! Breaks my heart! Miley does put her head down when she makes this noise. Sounds similar to the maltese video. She does this when we arrive home and she is excited to see us or when she gets excited playing or in the bath. I definitley will have the vet check this out next time we go. Makes me feel a little better thinking it is not a collapsed trachea. I will try blowing in her face next time. Thanks again!
