Fleas

No, thankfully, we don't have fleas. But I did see a post that mentioned flees and it got me wondering. How do they get fleas? If you have a dog that's primarily a house dog, how would they get them? Just hoping I would know if Charlie ever had them.

Fleas can be brought into your home on your clothes. If you go outside to an area that has fleas they can jump on you with you knowing it and then when you go into the house they can jump off you and get on your dog. Your dog can pick them up at the groomers or at the vets or any other public place where people take their dogs.

Some areas of the U.S., where the winters are mild, the fleas are a real problems. Here in Texas we are always battling them.

Ticks can also be brought into the house on your clothes.

I live on what I call the corner of "Fleas and Feral Cat" hill. Nightmare for fleas. Plus of course, it's Texas. The stranger cats walk along the top of our fence and I have a horrible attitude toward them. The fleas drop and multiply. I use the "monthly" faithfully. I also ask Linda at ISB about what more I could possibly add to my regime and she sent me some "protagonisti" Omar Canif. She said they weren't allowed to sell it in Italy because it is considered medicinal. Well, it works and protects my Priscilla from scratching her lovely coat. The thought of something sucking her blood out just makes me furious at the people who feed these random cats and I have called every public office I can only to find out there is nothing I can do. So the cats continue to use my flower beds as their sandbox and frankly....if this is the worst problem I ever have to complain about.....I am indeed blessed. Thank you Iv San Bernard!
