Diji has Ear infection!

I took Diji to the vet today for his 3rd round of shots. I told the vet about his smelly ears and she had a look inside. His ears are full of yeast. Turns out, the breeder we got him from must have a problem with ear mites.

My poor baby cried so much when she put the ear drops in. I'm so nervous because tonight I have to put the drops in his ears and I don't want to hurt him. The drops are a course of 10 days.

I've never had a dog with ear infection and it's pretty strange because I myself have problems with chronic ear infection... hehe. I just hope Diji's pain goes away. Has anyone ever had issues with ear infections with their furbabies that is?

The little stray I found had an ear infection. A really bad one. The ear drops were not at all hard to put in. I am sure you will be fine. I was nervouse too, because my other dog is a big mutt and this guy is so tiny. It worked out and was not hard. He is feeling so much better now that his personality is coming through. Good luck you will do fine.

She's right - it'll get better - I had cockers before and man were they prone to ear problems - just try to act like it's a normal thing to do (putting drops in) and don't baby him - once he gets used to it and the pain is better hopefully he won't cry anymore - poor little guy

Yes, they aren't uncommon in Yorkies.
We have yeast infection in ears issues all the time.

A drying solution should be used everytime his ears get wet.

What kind of drying solution do you use? Emee had ear problems that took us a couple weeks of ear drops to clear up. I now clean her ears each week but would like to know what kind of drying solution to use.

Was using Chlorhexiderm Flush. Liked it a lot. Then the company had some trouble with the FDA, so stopped using it. Ordered Epi Otic (supposed to be very popular/good stuff). Could not stand the smell and refuse to have Ellie smell like it. So that is just sitting here ready to go in the trash. Got Nolva Cleanse from Ellie's vet (have to get from vet now so I can smell them first...lol). Like it, but not sure it's a drying solution, so still trying to figure that out.

There are many choices though. If you search drying ear cleaner on YT, you will probably get lots of suggestions.
