Yorkie Yakker | Has anyone used Comfortis? I usually use Frontline or Advantage, but my Vet Assistant talked me into using Comfortis. It's a eatable pill for fleas. They said they have gotton rave reviews. Has anyone used this product before?

| Sophie Kate is on Comfortis for fleas and ticks, she takes a pill once a month at the same time she get her heartworm meds. We tried Frontline but after two does of her running around whinning after I put it on we decided to try something else so the Vet suggested Comfortis.

| I use Comfortis on both of my Yorkies with no problems at all. We dont like how the other brands leave the dogs hair oily and smelly.

| I tried confortis in september of last year at the recommendation of my vet - whom i trust. within 5 days my yorkie went into the worst health crisis! she had soemthing called an intersuseption which is very uncommon in adult dogs, she nearly died BEFORE we got her to an emergency animal hospital. she underwent a surgery to have her small intenstine removed re-sectioned and her recovery was months!!! at the time, no one suspected the comfortis; but for a while, i wasn't giving her anything but food.........so, she had no further problems. i went online to order the comfortis when i felt she was ready to injest a pill........only to read some horrifying reviews (including warnings from the food and drug administration).......i can't say for sure that this problem was caused by the comfortis.......but she had never been sick and had no prior digestive problems..........i now believe after having read some really bizaar things that have happenend to other dogs that this was probably the cause of her crisis - i'm glad we managed to save her; but not after many thousands of dollars. i have to say the comfortis REALLY worked for fleas.........but i'll never chance it again. good luck |

| Comfortis is a good pill for people who have problems with it, i personally think it all depends on your dog and how your dog handles it. Osiris had gotten fleas from another pup when he was little and for months just kept getting fleas no matter what we did . We tried so many different methods to get rid of the fleas. He didnt even go out side and He kept getting them , until a yorkie breeder where i live suggested Comfortis and worked like Magic. It is once a month , but he doesnt need it every month unless hes going outside a lot. |

| My opinion on Comfortis is this. There are very good reasons to use it (allergic to all other meds, nothing else works, etc.); but it is a very new drug, so it's hard to figure out how many reactions are caused from it. There are some reports online that are very concerning. Until this drug has been around for a lot longer, I would be extremely hesitant to use it for my dog. I just don't trust drugs or manufacturers enough to give my dog new products unless absolutely necessary.
