| Fish oil in food and clotting time After getting great advice on YT, I have decided to spay my little 2lb 8oz Fiona. I am currently switching her food to Blue Buffalo and plan to start her on fish oil after her spay. Members have told me that the fish oil increases the clotting time so I should not use it before her surgery. I am hoping that the food I chose has fish oil and other great stuff in it and I was wondering will the food cause the same effect that the oil would? Is there enough to make a difference? Hope there is enough to help her coat and skin and not change her blood.

| I am switching her food because she has extreme dry skin and has scratched some of her hair out. I really need to find a way to relieve some of her discomfort asap. If this last she may be a bald yorkie! Both seem to be necessary and I need to do both now. It may be a few weeks before the spay, I am scheduling it on tues. I switched her food on Friday.

| Actually she does seem to be scratching less. May be wishful thinking though. I figure it will take a while to see results in her fur but hopefully just a small amount of time before she isn't quite as itchy. I have changed shampoos, conditioners, amounts of baths, water tempature, etc. So with all that she should improve rather quickly (I hope). She sure does seem to be happier. She has so much energy now. She has been barking, dancing and wagging her tail alot!

| Yes they are! I have severe allergies to just about everything, so Fiona fits right in here. Thanks for the advice!

YT 2000 Club Member | It took me to going compeletly grain free before my dogs stopped being itchy and it does take at least a month to see the full results of the food. I didnt know about the fish oil have effects on clotting, thanks for sharing that.... again.. learn something new everyday.. Hope the new food switch works for sweet little Fiona..
