YT 2000 Club Member | evangers?? anyone use this food?? I started suspecting that the food my dogs are currently on were causing thier red staining, so I started looking for a new food. I got thier website addie off from this site. Tuesday,I sent them an email for samples, recieved a response back within just a few minutes. Today I recieved a huge box full of samples, canned food and 20 plus small bags of their whitefish/sweet potatoe and pheasant and brown rice. My dogs have never been real fond of fish so I opened the pheasant bag and oh my goodness, my dogs went NUTS.. they have never acted this way over a food. They were literally jumping on me trying to get the next peice. The ingredients look good and the food has probiotics. Of course I only gave them a few peices to sample, and will slowly mix it in with their current food to see if how they do., but Im keeping my fingers crossed that they will do ok on it. I have also put in a order for natural balance so if this one doesnt work out in a few days I will have that one to try. Anyone have any thoughts on this food?? TIA...

| My feed store gave me samples but I didn't open them. Nick was having diarrhea problems on Innova so I'm switching him to Natural Balance. I didn't want to give him too many different kinds of foods while his belly is upset. But, my feed store said it is a really good brand. I have had to switch foods for Nick several times so I'm going to keep it on hand just in case the NB doesn't work out. If I ever find something Nick likes as well as yours seem to like it...I'd switch and never look back!! Nick is SO picky. Anyway, good luck. |

| How did your dogs like the canned Evangers? I bought 2 cans today for Max to try as I suspect he is getting bored with his food. I plan to mix it in with his kibble. I was just on here doing a search on "evangers" and your thread came up.

I didnt give the canned evangers to my dogs, I read that they have issues in the past at their canning plant so I decided not to use the canned. I did try the dry pheasant and brown rice and they liked it for like a week then quite eating it Its a decent food and its relatively inexpensive compared to some of the other foods out there, the dry foods are made by Fromm so I felt safe feeding it. I was disappointed when the stopped eating it. I hope you have better luck with it..

| The canned foods from Evangers are safe, it was an issue where they filed with the FDA there "Vegetarian" style which was suppose to encompass all there "Loaf" style foods. Since the manufacturer all there loaf style foods with the same process they manufactuer the Vegetarian food. FDA said it didn't cover all there foods and needed the process for each foods. After the paperwork was straigthened out, everything went back to normal. Holly and Joel over at evanger's are really nice people, It's a family business, you'll get the owners or their son on the phone when you call. Evanger Hand Packed Formulas, are great (it's not loaf style) it's looks like real human food in a can. I know they manufactuer their own can foods in their facility, I'm not sure about the kibble and treats (Never thought to ask when I spoke to them). |

| We haven't had any complaints with the food, people still love the food. Its one of the best quality food for the price. They did announce they are changing their hand packed line to be grain free, but that doesn't affect the chicken and rice. Another option you have is California Natural Chicken and rice. |

Their are also hints, that this acquisition is going to prompt other larger companies to acquire, smaller healthier food companies. | |

| i went to petgoods near me to see what they carry; i saw the newmans chicken and rice formula; but it had also other ingredients. then i saw wellness simple solution canned duck and rice. it has only duck and rice and vitamins; it looked pretty bland to me. so i am going to give it a try as soon as i get her slowly off the purina en; back to homecooked turkey and oatmeal and then transition slowly the wellness duck and rice. i don't want to transition from purina en to wellness right away. anyone used wellness simple solutions canned formula Wellness Simple Food Solutions® Duck & Rice Formula
