| vomiting and restlessness My 1 1/2 year old male yorkie Pirate has vomited approximately 8 times in a 2 hour period. No vomiting in the last hour. The color is yellow and white foamy look. He looks lethargic but very restless at the same time. He hasnt had much of an appetite the last 2 days. My girlfriend told me that he ate 1 white chocolate chip last night. I thought I would just watch him and if he gets worse I will take him to the vet. Anyone have any advice? |

| he needs to go to the vet. He is vomiting bile which means his stomach is empty but the vomiting could be the result of eating the chocolate. |

| Decided to not go to the vet and just watch him carefully. Pirate didnt vomit anymore and was acting more appropriately last night. Today we woke up and he seems 100%. No vomiting, no restlesness, and no longer lethargic. I still wanna keep a close eye on him for a few days. Thanks for everyones concern. |

| He has been eating great today and last night. Tons of water today, urinating his normal amount and normal color. Not showing any signs of dehydration. I think he may have ate something on his walk yesterday that caused him to get an upset stomach. He appears fine but I still want to watch him close. I have one more day off and then I go back to work so I will be able to watch him. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Wow, I just want to say you are very, very, very lucky. That amount of vomiting in such a short period of time can often mean there is a life threatening situation. You should probably have a liver/kidney panel done in case he had ingested a poison - and there may have been damage to those organs, if so. Glad he seems to be feeling better.

| The same thing happened to my Yorkie a couple years back except she vomited 8 times in a day, not 2 hours. She was restless that morning and then it started. We didn't take her in, but did give pedialyte. When I pulled food, she stopped vomiting though. Anyway, during an ultrasound a week later for something unrelated, the internist told me she either had chronic pancreatitis or recent, acute pancreatitis. So that's what it was. He "may" be okay if it has stopped, but if it was pancreatitis, it is best to know for sure. His diet may need to be altered and he would have to be watched very carefully form now on. A flair up could potentially be fatal. It also wouldn't hurt to have some routine bloodwork done. One white chocolate chip should not cause symtoms unless your Yorkie is very sensitive.
