| Natural Balance Venison and Sweet Potato? Have you tried this food? Do they like it, I mean will they actually eat venison? Is Natural Balance the best choice? I am going to vet Saturday and am going to talk to him about his food choices for Finn. The Hills z/d ultra he will eat but the itching will not go away. I looked back for previous discussions and can't find them, so please share your opinions, remember my Finn is A LITTLE ALLERGY TRAIN WRECK!

| I used NB Sweet Potato & Venison once before for Sasha. She ate it for about a month and then became tired of it. I then began mixing in the canned food of the same flavor to entice her. Again, she ate it for about a month and then even became sick of that as well. Her stools were normal, but pretty dark on this food, but otherwise we never had any problems. Right now, she's eating Innova EVO and really seems to be enjoying this food, probably the best out of all the foods I've tried with her. |

| My Roscoe didn't like it and the lady gave me a sample of Taste of the Wild and he LOVED it, so we switched to that. I think it is a really good food, Roscoe is just really picky.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I am mixing in the NB Venison & Sweet Potatoe for one of my pups - trying to put on some weight on her and it is working.....she likes it and is gaining weight. But I feed my pups the NB Fish & Sweet Potatoe - for most that is all they get and for the one above it is 50/50. I have one pup who has terrible skin allergies and was needing steriod shots and meds on a regular basis just to keep her from pulling out all her hair.....and the NB Fish & Sweet Potatoe was what was recommended and has worked great......no more shots or meds. I have another pup with a very sensative tummy and at the time had a puppy.....when I asked for a food that all three of those pups could eat and help both the "itches" and "tummy".....NB Fish & Sweet Potatoe was suggested.....and is what I have been feeding for 2 years. NB Fish & Sweet Potatoe does not come in small bites, but mine have been able to handle the size of the pieces. One caution.....I have to stay on the low side of the suggested feeding size as mine tend to gain a little weight on the NB foods. Good luck finding a solution for your pups allergies!!

| Thanks to All I am definitely going to tell the vet tomorrow that we want to switch foods although I don't know what that will do to the food trial that we are on but the Ultra z/d has not stopped the itching except for his ears. They are still a little pink but he doesn't dig at them. We were on med for that forever. I just wish the allergy shots would have worked and benadryl doesn't seem to be doing a thing. I have never had such a problem with one of my pets! Thanks again and I will keep reading everyone's advice!

| I feed mine NB SP & Venison & all have gained weight too! I thought it was bc they were spayed & neutered. I've cut their food by 1/3 suggested by our vet & they're still gaining, but seem hungry all the time. The reason I feed this is bc they like it & are doing well on it except the gaining weight part. What to do... To the op, you can email NB & ask for samples. They have Sweet Potato Venison, Fish, & Chicken (new). Most Yorkies seem to like it, I think it's the SP. There's a sticky in the health & diet section, a list of premium food companies, & you can ask for samples.
