| When To Swith To Adult Food Apple will be 9 months old next Friday...She's on Innova Puppy Dry, but lately, I've been having to add a little something to it to make it wonderful like water from the organic canned chicken (that I eat) in her supper, or a tiny bit of scrambled egg in her breakfast...She's, obviously, bored to tears with plain dry innova...I tried adding a little innova puppy canned to her food, and she won't get w/in 10 feet off it...She must hate the smell! Is it time to switch to adult food? My plans were to switch to adult food at about a year old...Her activity is two 30 minute walks twice a day...As I work, she's probably pretty mellow throughout the day...She weighs about 4 1/2 lbs....Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. |

| I switched Fiona to adult food when she turned 11 months old. you can probably start at 10 months old...but you should do it in a three day grace period---add the new kibble into the old kibble...day 1 put maybe 3-4 pieces in with it, then as the days progress give a little more, until you ween them off the puppy food.

| 9-12 months is usually the time frame ppl switch to adult, so you could switch her to adult food now. I continued to feed puppy food until 12mo, but you can switch earlier if prefered. Maybe try the EVO or something a bit different if she isn't excited about the dry Innova. Last edited by AMD; 07-24-2009 at 07:12 AM. |
