| Is IAMS Smart Puppy food ok to use? Greetings, I did some searching and I couldn't find anything on this. Is it ok to feed my 10wk old IAMS smart puppy food? Is there something better? I am paranoid about liver shunts. Thanks |

| Welcome to YT...I am sure that you will get lots of opinions on the subject of what food to feed. Me I use Royal Canin Puppy 33..You feed this formula to 10 months of age...When my boy Yoda reaches 10 mo. I will switch him to their Yorkshire 28 formula..good luck Here is a link to their website www.royalcanin.ca

| There are premium foods that you can get that are better than Iams. Innove,Nutro, canidae and Chicken soup are some. I feed mine Royal Canin and even though it has corn in it it is better than Iams. It is easier to find at places like petco and petsmart also.

Some dog food companies use corn as it is a cheap filler. It also makes more poop to clean up as it is not digested.

This is very true.. There was a list of the top dog foods on here, but i cannot find it. I feed my dogs Innova EVO, I've given them Canidae, i do want to try Chicken soup for the Dog Lover's Soul. If you want to do your own research on dog food, go to my friends website. www.mordanna.com/dogfood and you can go to Innova's website and compare www.naturapet.com i personally don't Like IAMS. not only because of www.iamscruelty.com ,but just their ingredients are junk and full of fillers and isn't very healthy to me in the long run.

| Iams Food We had our puppy on Medi-Cal dog food since we got him and when that ran out we switched him to Iams Smart Puppy when he was about 5.5 months old. It is exactly one month later and he has been having diarrhea almost since. At first we thought he drank bad water when we went camping but after the vet and pills it wasn't getting any better. We switched back to the Medi-Cal formula and hopefully he will get better soon. While we were at the vet buying the new stuff a lady waiting for the vet said her yorkie puppy did the same thing. I personally wouldn't recommend it. |

| I, personally, wouldn't feed my dogs any of the dog foods (including Iams) that are sold in most large scale pet stores like petsmart. All those foods are full of fillers and animal BYPRODUCTS . I buy my food from the small local pet stores that sell natural human grade high quality food . I have fed my little ones royal canin (not anymore due to the corn), solid gold, and now timberwolf dry and wellness canned. There are many other good high quality dog foods that others have already mentioned. Also, the prices for the high quality food isn't much higher than foods such as Iams... for me it's about $14 for Iams and $17 for Timberwolf, I don't mind paying the extra $3 it's well worth it . Take a look around there are sooooo many different good foods out there that will be healthy and yummy for your little one!!
