| Separation Anxiety Please help I don't know what to do anymore! I "saved" a 2 1/2 yr old little girl at the end of March, she was in bad shape & actually screamed the entire ride home in the car. Well now she is obcessed with being right next to me. When I go to work she screams & cries, when I go to the mailbox same thing, I can't even sit on the front porch because she is not satisfied with with seeing me through the screen door! I can't take the high pitch screams & yelps, I've tried to ignore it but you can't even have a conversation because she is so loud, so I just go in. I am also having major trouble potty training. She is pretty good when I'm home but on work days she will knock down the baby gate & do her business ALL OVER the rug. I love her to death, really she is very sweet & gives 100's of kisses a day but I am almost to the point of rehoming her. I just don't know what to do anymore. MOMMY TO PRECIOUS & PRINCESS |

| My dog is the same. Im not really sure why he does this but he too jumps the gate and then pees all around the house. My mom says that hes mad that we left him but im really not sure. He is very attached to everyone in the hous hold. He is potty trained but when we leave him and dont put him in his crate he goes all around the house and on all of the carpets. The really hard thing is that when someone rescues a dog they have no idea what there life was like before. So that is always part of it. I've been trying to leave the house and just to go outside and let my dog know that it is not acceptable to bark and cry when I am out of sight. Also I try to leave him with a really nice new toy and treat that he only has when im gone.

| I have an excellent gate, I bought mine at Drsfostersmith, think they sell the same one at walmart, but, there is no knocking it down. Now, my one can jump it when it storms, she's deathly afraid of them, so, hubby rigged it where she couldn't jump it. It's a big piece of posterboard, and he put some kind of back on it that latches right over the gate, which keeps any dog from going over it. I don't know what to tell you(op) about the anxiety. It just breaks your heart when you know they were abused, and now they have someone that loves them, and they don't want to lose that love again. You may have to get ahold of an animal trainer to see what to do. Or maybe buy that Caesar Milan book, I'm sure he has something in it as far as how to work with one with anxiety problems |

| Thank you both for your suggestions. I'll try & pick up the Cesear book. It really breaks my heart because I love the poor little helpless thing but she is seriously driving me insane. I feel so guilty |
