I just purchased some "Red Barn Steer Chews". They look like bully sticks and the package says 100% beef by product. but when I opened the bag I detect the faint smell of hickory. My puppy is 12 weeks old, do you think I should give him something which is flavored? Anyone ever heard of "Red Barn Sterr Chews" before?

Not sure about that. In my experience, my Yorkie Otis has a pretty sensitive stomach when it comes to flavorings such as smoke/hickory. It gives him mucousy diarrhea. There are bullies/chews that aren't smoked or flavored, you might be better with those. Good luck.

Our puppy loves the bully sticks we get from westbrookdog.com

They (thankfully!) don't smell. She's been enjoying them since she was about 14 weeks old.

Thank you Paula and Toy for responding. I threw away the Red Barn Hickory Chews and ordered some Bully Sticks from Westbrook Dog this morning. I am so thankful to have access, through YT, to such wonderful, knowledgeable, Yorkie loving people.
