| How long until i should worry Marley has not pooped all day and half of yesterday. She usually poops 2-3 times a day. When I took her outside just a little while ago she got into the position of pooping but nothing came out. When should i start to give her something to help her poop or when should i start to worry. What are some things that i could give her? |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | When our Yorkie got contispated after just bringing her home, I called our vet's office to see what I should do. The vet assistant told me to pour a little bit of vegetable oil over her food. In our case, it worked well. I also have read on here that canned pumpkin (no spices...just plain canned pumpkin) works for bowels for either contispation or upset. Hopefully, one of these will work for you. (I couldn't get mine to eat canned pumpkin at the time so I used the vegetable oil on the food.) I'm sure you already know this but water is important, too, in the function of the intestines. |

| I'd give her something now (could use metamucil or canned pumpkin if that's all you can get) and make sure she is drinking before doing this. If it doesn't work within a few hours, I'd call the vet if she is a puppy still.

| Canned pumpkin works for both constipation and if they have diarrhea... It has worked really well for Amelia if I mix it in with some of her wet food. |
