| Green Beans? Can our babies eat green beans, and, if so, should they be cooked or raw? Thanks, Maggie & Apple xoxoxo |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey's vet suggested them when Joey needed to lose some weight after a tricks training class. I use the frozen variety they taste precooked, and just microwave to thaw. I've heard the canned variety has too much salt, someone suggested rinsing, but the salt would be absorbed by the bean in the canning process, and I doubt if rinsing would help. The raw kind must be cooked before they can be digested. Joey just loves them, and gets about 5-6 of the petite green beans a day.

| Edie is on a diet. So I give her a handful frozen greenbeans at each meal, along with her reduced amount of kibble. She LOVES them straight from the freezer! |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I thought Joey would too, since he loves an occasional ice cube, but he just turned his nose up at the frozen one.

Senior Yorkie Talker | that is a good question. I had wanted to feed my apple some baby food(the veggies) but, while on hear I read that it was not advisable since most of them may contain garlic corn or any other ingredents that they can not eat.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | She wants to feed her "babies" green beans, she doesn't want to use "baby food." I would advise against most baby food. Not so much because of garlic, but the onions, dogs can't have any onion, but the amount of garlic found in food is safe. Baby food is usually more expensive than fresh or frozen.

| I feed my dogs a homecooked diet and one of the ingredients is greenbeans. I buy the frozen, steam them, and then puree them in the blender before I mix with the other ingredients. Dogs don't digest veggies and fruits that well so steaming and pureeing helps the digestion process. I recently read on our nutritionist's blog that green beans aid in detoxification. I've given Rylie a couple frozen green beans as treats before...Lacy wouldn't eat them

| My sweet Binky had kidney failure, so he lived for 3 1/2 more years with little protien. He loved green beans, though carrots were his favorite. He seemed to be able to digest fresh beans better if they were cooked. Not too many though--they move through their little systems quickly.
