| Putting a puppy under twice ... The vet is going to neuter my 7months old on Monday. At the same time, she wants to pull out his double teeth (she said there are a lot), remove a lump (that alone came out to be around $400 with extended Anesthesia and antibiotics) ... and all in all, my final total comes to just about $1000. I don't think I can pay that much at once ... So my other option is to get him neutered and that's it. But maybe around when he turns 10 months or so, put him under anesthesia again to remove baby teeth and the lump. This way my payments are spread out .... What does everyone think of putting him under twice? Is that really bad? He's 3.7 pounds now. Has anyone put their puppy under twice? |

| That shouldn't be a problem. I think I'd want the lump gone now though... Some dogs are put under twice a year for dentals and do fine. You will have double the cost for blood work though.

YT Addict | I don't know if you have ever heard of Care Credit.. it is like a pet credit card and you can pay for it on there and then you have a year of interest free payments. Just a thought. I would check it out and see if your vet takes it. I have had it for awhile now and man it has been a lifesaver (literally) |

| Yea I've hear of Care Credit ... So if my puppy is put under twice, I'd have to do the Pre-anesthtic blood work twice as well? I know my cost will be higher for anesthesia ... |

| Honestly, you probably will endure more costs by doing it 2 times. Plus you have to put him under 2 times, and there's always going to be a risk anytime they are put under. If I were in this situation, I would find a way to do it this 1 time. Whether it be the Care Credit, or a special personal credit care just for this or even asking the Vet to do a payment plan... |

Infections and come up fast and show up on a CBC and the blood panel can change in a short amount of time also.

| Personally, I might opt to get it done twice and space them apart. Not for the financial aspect of it, but for the amount of time he will be kept under to get all those procedures done. I would ask how long he'd have to be under for all of it. If they're quick and easy routine work, I would get it done all at once. |
