| When can I play with my puppy after taking a shot of ivermectin for Mange? Hello, I got the cutest puppy around a month and a half ago. I didn't know to much about reputable breeders and the concecuenses of buying a puppy from a non-reputable one. My dog was scratching a lot. When I took him to the vet they told me that I should change the food. I did a research and determined that innova would be the best for him. So I switch him like a month ago. The ithing continued and was gettin worst, and I we were all ithching as well. The vet told me to give him advantix. That didn't work. The scrathing kept going. So on the next vet visit. I told him about the scrathing and that he still had fleas because we were itching a lot too. He said to put advantix again. We did. We cleaned the house, moved to another bedroom, and we kept getting new bites and the puppy kept scratching like crazy with out ever seeing a flea. So we went again to the vet and showed him our bites since he never believed us. He did a skin scraping, gave him anivermectin shot, prescribed antibiotics and a special shampoo. We bathe him and we also took showers with some lace product. He is issolated from us, but I am dying to go hug him and play with him. It is breaking my heart. All of this happened today. So when is it save for me to play with him and have him in my bed again? We washed everything but it seems like we can give to him or he can give it back to us. Please help me as soon as possible. Thanks |

| Sorry to hear about your puppy. I can't be of much help, but wanted to welcome you to YT. If anyone can answer your questions, you've come to the right place. Good Luck

My little Shadow Donating YT Member | Hello & Welcome to YT! I'm so sorry yr puppy is having this problem. I would call the Vet and inquire to make sure. Someone posted this article for me once when I had questions about using Ivermectin. Did the Vet do a skin scraping? If so, did it show up for Mites? I hope it gets better very soon. Also hoping someone can help that's had experience with this. Good Luck! Demodex Skin Mites In A Dog and Human at ThePetCenter.com
