| Help my 2/12 year old yorkie keeps throwing up her food My Sophie keeps throwing up her food. I've taking her to the vet they have run all the test and she is fine. They put her on bland diet for 3 days and she didn't throw up. i took her for her recheck and she was feeling better and back on her dry food again. For 2 weeks she didn't get sick. Then her daddy went out of town for and few day and she would'nt eat so i cooked her chicken and rice. she eat that. I slowly worked her back to her dry food again and a little can food for a treat. and now we are back to the throwing up again. she is a picky eater. I have her on Royal Can for yorkies. i'm thinking I need to change her diet. easier said than done as she is sooo picky. If she doesn't like what you give she just won't eat. Then her sugar get low. |

| How about keeping her on canned food? You can get samples of different dry foods to see what she likes before buying a bag...

| Sounds like you've already mentioned the problem....maybe it's a nervous condition. When I first got my baby (he was already 1 1/2 yrs old), he threw up quite a bit. (in the house, in the car, on my lap ) Once he got used to "us," riding in the car, living in our house, etc--he stopped. Is it possible that your baby just simply doesn't deal well with schedule/household changes? |

| Thanks for replying all. As for the canned food she doesn't like milk bones or any hard treat. i know that canned food isn't that great for there teeth. So i would like to have her on dry, if I can. and if she gets canned food for a long period of time she won't eat any dry. As for the household changes it's always changing if that is the problem it just started. We both travel alot together and apart. We have left her for 10 days at time and she didn't do this. I made her the chicken because she had just been sick. i didn't what her to go without eating for a whole day at that point. Since my last post she as throw up again tonight. which was canned food. As soon as she throws up she seems to feel better in a little while. And now she is back to herself again. i'm going to take her back to the vet tomorrow. This as all just started in the last month or month and half. At this point i don't know anything esle to do. I really worry about her sugar getting to low when she doesn't eat. we had that happen when she was a puppy. |
