| Blue Buffalo??? This is what my mom has her yorkie on. She bought it once she got her pup but with NO luck her pup will not eat this, my mom has to hand feed her and it's always a game. My mom's boxer will not even eat it either and she loves all food. Back two weeks ago when Stormy would not eat my mom gave me a small bag to take home and try. She has been eating this NO PROB! She eats more of this then any of the other brands we had tried and crossing my fingers she keeps it up! It is a Holistic food and it looks pretty good to me. My mom just gave me the rest of the bag, theres enough for a couple weeks and I was thinking of buying another bag once this is up but for the small breeds I just seen on their site, hopefully they have it in stores. Right now the one I have is for pups and it is the chicken and brown rice. Just looking for any feed back on this brand? Would this be an okay brand to stick with? I mean Stormy has been WONDFERUL. again fingers crossed!! She has gotten some spunk and energy back. And to add she even loves the little black balls too which my moms yorkie would not even touch. lol Last edited by yorkie_mama22; 02-11-2009 at 10:55 AM. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Blue Buffalo sounds like a great food, this is one I was considering trying, but so many people said that their dogs wouldn't eat it, and Joey is really fussy. Some would eat the food and leave the black stuff, so if your baby enjoys it, lucky for you. Glad she's doing so well on it.

| Yes I had seen that alot of the dogs pick out the little black balls but Stormy loves it all. I mean she is not CRAZY about it but she is eating it without a problem. I had tried a few others before and after a couple days she was bored and I was going out to get canned food for her, but now she has been on it for at least two weeks without anything extra and she is doing so well on it that I hope she keeps it up. I read some reviews and alot of people like it, it says some get a bit of gas and loose stools but we haven't experienced anything like that, she has had a LITTLE bit of gas but I only noticed yesterday. |

| Glad I saw this! Dixie is a VERY picky girl. She wont even eat many treats! I was feeding her Royal Canin and it was a daily battle to get her to eat anything. I switched to Blue Buffaly Puppy about a week and a half ago and she has eaten her entire 1/4 C. every day! She loves it. Even the Lifesource bits! Such a relief |

Blue Wilderness is rated at 6 star, but the Blue Buffalo is only a 4 star rated.

Yorkie Yakker | What about Orijen? So... big mistake! I purchased IAMs and my co-worker told me that they test their food on CAGED-dogs. It's so sad... It was all over PETA. Anyways I'm thinking about getting my new puppy Orijen. It's gluten, corn, and grain-free. When I was growing up my parents fed our family dog IAMs so I didn't know any better. But now thinking back, that's probably why he was so fat. Have anyone used Orijen before? It's quite expensive but it's so worth it. My puppy is 3 months old and I want to slowly transition her to the new puppy food. She doesn't eat much of the IAMs anyways. Currently, I'm using my mini-food processor to give her steamed broccoli and carrots with her IAM food. |

Relax, I'm not a PETA freak but I don't believe in cruetly to animals. And I work hard for my money. I have the right to say that I don't want to invest in something and not have people like you lecture me. I just want what best for my puppy's tummy. So if anyone has used Orejeni let me know. I'm thinking about switching my puppy to that formula.

If you would like to learn more about Orijen, may I suggest that you post a new thread, you will get better replies, people reading this thread are more concerned with Blue Buffalo, and most posters don't even read all the replies.

Yorkie Yakker | by the way... forums are there for people to get ideas and to learn. If you want to attack people write a letter to PETA. I'm not representing them and if you READ my second paragraph I clearly only want to know what natural puppy food is good out there. Anyways, I've heard of Blue Baffalo and heard both good and bad. My friend has used that formula but her dog did not eat much on that (I believe it's the scent). She then used Merrick but that has pretty high contain of calcium for puppies. I believe it's like more than 2.5% which is fairly high. The dog was peeing crystals. |

| Blue Buffalo (IMO) is a good food . I was hoping for the best when I tried it with mine... but they just wouldn't eat it ( especially the LS bits) if Stormy is eating it ...go for it
