I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I know many people use cheerios when training a young pup, while not particularly healthy, they probably aren't unhealthy and so small they don't interfere with the appetite. I think it took about 10 cheerios to get Joey through his early bathing sessions. And food rewards are very effective at getting them to associate grooming with a pleasant experience. Joey also loves frozen green beans that have been warmed, not the canned kind as they have too much salt. About the only vegetable that you want to avoid is onion, don't give anything that contains onion. I've read that they like most fruits as well, and you might want to check out the "forbidden list." http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...oods-dogs.html I also made some liver treats for Joey. Just take calf's liver, and boil it for ½ hour. Cut in small ½ inch squares and bake in a 200-degree oven till it dries. Excellent, healthy treat. Frozen bananas are a great idea for teething puppies! I'm not sure you want to give them too much variety when they are so young. Human babies are more likely to develop allergies, if a food is given too soon, I don't know if this translates to dogs, but most of us don't even have our puppies at 8 weeks.

| Cheerios aren't really the best although they work. Fresh fruit and veggies cut up taste good, and are good for them.

| mine love all fruits & veggies - no grapes though - they are poisonous. Carrots, apples, bananas, different melons, snap peas - are some of their favorites. I can't bake a sweet potato without them wanting some of it
