| Adding water to dry kibble? I was told by a pet store owner that I should add water to dry kibble. I have always fed the kibble to my dogs, dry, with a water dish near by. This lady told me that feeding the dry kibble caused more tarter on the teeth. I had always heard that feeding dry kibble was helpful to keep tarter off the teeth. I would appreciate any input I can get on this subject. Thank you very much. Jacki |

| Most people believe that kibble cleans teeth. That's not always true but there is no reason to soak a healthy dog's kibble in water. Whatever you feed, teeth should be brushed 3-4 times a week minimum and preferrably everyday.

| Wow that's a new one. I've heard some breeders soak it for puppies, although mine would never eat it soaked. If i were going to soak their kibble, I'd just feed them wet food. |

| I was told the opposite ,NOT to add water to kibble. I guess if you were going to add water you may as well feed wet food. I have never heard that feeding kibble adds tater to teeth that seems very unlikely to me .

| Adding water to dry kibble? Thank you guys. I have been adding water to the dry kibble. She seems to like it all right that way but I don't want to be causing her teeth to get tarter faster. I do brush her teeth but, truthfully, not as often as I should. Jacki |

| I just had the brilliant idea to call the company who makes Innova Small Bites (the food that I feed Sarajane). They said that they don't recommend adding water to the kibble. If you choose to, she said to add cold water because warm water may ruin the macrobiotics? that are in the food. So I will just feed it to her dry. She eats it and she has a tendency to leave the wet food too long before she eats it. Thanks for all the input! :-) Jacki Quote:
