| vaccinations from petco i stopped by petco last night to pick up a chew toy for charlie. The guy I talked to told me about the vaccinations that are also available at petco for pets. The price is not bad. It was $58 for the set of vaccinations that Charlie need at the moment. Have you vaccinated your pet at petco before? I am not sure if I should get Charlie vaccinated with petco or a vet. I am still currently searching for a vet for him. |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I know lots of folks that use the service there. I haven't heard anything adverse about it. It's a great savings because your only paying for the vaccines.

| I would say in most cases it is best to use the vet unless there is a licensed vet there examining the dog first and ready to give emergency treatment should the dog have a reaction.

I've been getting our vaccines at our local Humane Ass'n - they are much cheaper and they support the Ass'n - and they have a full staff on hand.

| I would not have my puppy vaccinated by anyone but a licensed vet. Vaccine reactions can be serious and I prefer to know if something should go wrong my boys will be taken care of asap.

| Actually the clinics at PETCO are run by licensed vets, so don't worry, you are in good hands - and you save money too! The only thing is the times of the clinics are different at every store so you have to call the location to see when they have it. All stores have a clinic at least once a month. |

| That is good to know about Petco for those who really can't afford appt. with their vet. I really like to put emphasis on a veterinary/patient/client relationship though, so for me I'd rather take my animals to the same vet for everything. That way the vet gets to know the dog and you get to know the vet.

YT 2000 Club Member | I was at our Petco and they post who the vet is that does their vaccine clinic. At ours it's a trusted and respected local vet that has his own clinic too. I do not use that serves but think that it's good that it is available and affordable for people who choose to go that rout.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I had used the vaccine services at Petco, and like some of the others, is run by a local vet that has a clinic here in my town. They are well respected and will take care of you in case of an emergency.. I used them when we first moved here to this town and our dog needed his vaccines. hugs, Carmen in nj |

Senior Yorkie Talker | we take out cat to petco for the vaccines because it is a lot cheaper. its not like the people who are giving the shots are just the workers of petco, they are still vets and giving a shot doesnt seem like rocket science...so i am sure its fine. my cat never had problems with it. I say if your dog is due for shots and they are having the shot clinic...go right ahead. Right now our puppy is still getting his first couple sets of shots and so we do that with out vet but im sure down the road when he just needs the basic shots up to date we will probably do it at the low cost petco vaccination clinic.
