| What shots does my 9 month old need? My yorkie is 9 months old, and she was scheduled for her first hair cut today. My father brought her in and they said she didn;t have enough shots, but our vet would have told us she needed more when we asked for a copy of her papers, and he always sends us reminders in the mail when our animals need something. So either our vet messed up or didn;t get the informtaion across, or the place we took her too doesn't know. Does anyone know which ones she should have by this time? |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | There are 3 sets of injections which are combined vaccines and then a rabies shot. The first three can start around 8 weeks...possibly a bit later and the others given approximately 2 weeks apart The rabies is the last and should've been given after 3 months of age. Bordatello is also another vaccination but it is usually optional. The only vaccination proof I've ever been asked for by a grooming salon was proof of rabies.

| I'm really lucky that our groomers don't require the shot records. The bordatella is given either through a shot or liquid up the nose, I prefer the liquid. Rabi shots, I always wait on, infact, the puppy I just got, I won't get her a rabi shot until she's about a year old, she's just too tiny. I would ask the groomer which shots she didn't have that she was supposed to have. |

| My guess is that your vet doesn't give bordatella (which is fine) and the groomer requires it.

| I would fine another groomer, I would not give the bordatella shot to her. It can cause a case of kennel cough at this age. If the groomer requires it, that must mean that they have the bordatella in the groomer clinic. Your vet should know what shots the puppy needs, as he is the specialist on it. |
