| Wellness Adult Small Breed or what? Anyone use this? I saw it on their site. I keep reading about high protein beng bad (pancreatitis). I am currently on EVO. Thinking about changing to Innova, Wellness, ...something with a lower protein. What do you think

| ok...I saw about more poop with Wellness! Not for me! What about choosing between CA Natural or Innova? I know they are both the same company though.

| No...just that I read here that high fat/protein food may not be good for the pancreas. He is a little bored with the EVO but other than that we are not having problems. Just a bit reluctant to eat it.

| So is EVO a good food to keep him on even though it is higher fat (22.22%)? Protein is 43.6

| i would say yes- since he is a puppy right? or is he? maybe you didn't say- puppies need higher fat. the fat isn't horrible but if you are worried bout it- i'd find a lower fat food while- if you can- maintaining the high protein. dogs are carnivores so they need protein- and if a food has low protein it just means there is more filler- stuff they don't need. |

| He is now 10 months old so I figured if I needed to switch him (after puppy to adult) to a lower fat or lower protein it would be a good time to start. I change realllllly slowly.

If you are changing from a high quality food to another high quality food you don't have to do it as slowly- the slow transition is mainly from a low quality to a high. | |

| I lucky in that I have a large number of brands available to me. I have 2 really good "natural" pet food stores within 1/2 hr drive or less. I just am not sure what to switch him to at 12 months to get the fat down. EVO is 43% protein and 22% fat. Orijen is 42% protein and 16% fat. Orijen seems close to keeping the protein up and getting the fat down. I also looked at: CA Natural Adult Lamb but it is only 21% protein and 11% fat. Innova Adult is a little higher at only 24%protein and 14% fat. He has been eatting a few pieces ot the CA Natural mixed with his EVO (from a sample pack) and likes it alot.

| Wellness Core is one of the lower "high protein" foods. We feed it and we love it! When you're switching, I would wait until one year and then just switch over the course of one week. That should be plenty of time.
