| What do you think I should do!? Ok, it's been a week and 3 days today since Fiona got spayed. She did great, she is eating, drinking, and I am still keeping her low key, however, her spay incision to me, still looks a bit puffy, nothing is oozing out of it, not bleeding, no foul odors, nothing, just looks sorta puffy. I cleaned it real good last night with cotton balls saturated with water and johnson and johnsons baby wash, dried it real well and put some neosporin on it. This morning, it looked a little bit better. She does not bother it at all, and we have been keeping it nice and dry. Do you think I should call the vet, or just keep looking at it?! Since I was a vet tech, it doesn't look all that bad to me, but, she does seem to feel a bit hot on her body as well, which can be infection? Money is tight until next week...what do you all think I should do? She is not acting any differently by all means, still has a great appetite, drinking, playing, going to the bathroom!?

| my little dog had similar problem after spaying, and it turned out she was alergic to the cat gut used for stitching her up. The vet gave her a course of antibiotics just incase, and she was fine. Cant even see where the incision was now. |

| hmmm miss buffeys incision was a little poofy for a while after and also was not leaking or irritating her....i would think this would be normal for an incision only a week and 3 days old i know when i cut myself on accident, even when i put neosporin on it, it takes a while for the puffiness to go down ... and a spay suture is even more invasive...i guess it depends on how puffy it is if it would set your mind at ease, i think a visit to the vet would be worth it

| I think when I get home, I'll check her out, because, when I looked at it this morning, it looked better, and she didn't seem as warm, but yes, I can get a temp on her! Thanks guys! But, yes, I would think maybe by next week it will look better!?

Donating YT 30K Club Member | That happened to Roxie and I took her in and because the swelling was making her stitches pull the vet gave her an antibiotic and a little steroid to reduce the swelling. She didn't seem bothered by it but the vet was concerned that the stitches would pull out due to the swelling and that it may be uncomfortable. Maybe just call the vet and see if they feel she needs to be seen.

| As I posted on the emergency board...Max got an infection from his neuter he had done less than 2 weeks ago. So far all they have charged me for was the E-collar ($7.00) and the Clavamox antibiotics. They have not charged me for exams. Of course we have not gone back into a room. The vet comes out and looks at him and even sat with us today in the waiting area. She asked if iIwanted to go to an exam room and I said no cuz we were the only ones there. ANYWAY...my point is...take her in just to be sure. I did today for a re-check and I have peace of mind now.

| Lilly's was puffy for quite some time after her spay. I took her in ummm I think 4 - 5 times worried about it . Each and every time I felt like an idiot because the vet always gave the same response "looks great, she's healing fine!" and sent me on my way. I even took her because I thought there was something stuck in it. I felt like a dorkkk but I was always so worried. I'm sure Fiona's is the same but to ease your mind, you could always just take her in quickly. I'm almost 100% sure that's what it is. My vet didn't charge anything, not sure how yours is though! Good luck!!
