| Need help choosing a new food I have decided to change A.J and KaCee's food since it is giving A.J very bad gas. He started having problems while eating Merrick's puppy plate and it has increased when switched to Turducken. I am very pleased with the quality of Merricks and both dogs seem to love it. I hate to switch them to something else, but I know A.J has to be hurting with as smelly as he is. Can anyone give me some recommendations about where to go from here? I want to stay with a dry kibble. I've looked over the dog food analysis website but I just don't know where to go. I mean, is the only way to find out what's causing the gas just simple trial and error? For KaCee's sake, I'd like to feed something that is lower in fat. The vet told us today that he doesn't want to see her gain any weight so we need to maintain or even lose a little.

| I really can't help you much. I am trying to explore healthier options for Breyli as well and should be receiving some free samples in the mail. Good luck in your search for the best food for your pooch. |

| Not sure I can help, but I just started Bella on Blue Buffalo chicken & brown rice. First ingredient is chicken. No corn, wheat, soy proteins. No animal by-products. Contains veggies & fruit. It is dry kibble. Not sure on the fat content, but it is high in protein. Hope someone else can give you more of what you are looking for.

| Trial and error is all you can really do in any case to find out what is the best match for your little one. Does AJ eat particularly fast? If so, that in itself can cause excess gas. So can a sudden change in food. I would start by trying to pinpoint which ingredient is causing it and going from there. |

Actually, he eats pretty slow. Normally, just one piece of kibble at a time...
