Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I agree - you need to request a skin scraping for mites/mange. What does her skin look like? What are you feeding her?

| Definitely go see your vet! I went thru this with my siberian husky...EVERY october he would start stratching to the point of making himself bleed. It was exhausting trying to figure out what was wrong with him. It ended up being allergies which I insisted it was to my vet (needless to say we dont go to her anymore) Anyways..long story short...it ended up being a simple solution. As long as he was on benadryl from Oct. to Dec. he was fine. He lived 13 beautiful yrs.

| We went to the Vet We just got home from the vet and yes they did a skin scraping and they didn't find anything in that so we are trying the Benadrill first for allergies I think thats what it is also but when you have a 4 lb furry person you don't know how much meds to give them so you always have to take them in to the vet to spend a $100 to find out what you knew all along. Thank you all for your concern I like having friends to tell things to about my furry people as soon as I figure out how to put there picture up I'll share them with you all. |

| thyroid maybe too My lab Rock has allergies and he is 5 this is the first year we experienced allergies. I was upset when the vet asked if she could do a mange test. I thought how could he have mange. He is so clean and lives in my house with Mia the yorkie. Well she did teh scrap and no mange. She said allergies. But I have heard other pet owners have similar problem and end up having it be a thyroid condition. The testing is blood draw I think can run almost a hundred dollars. Good luck if you want any more advice about allergies let me know. Also we have a special shampoo that takes away the itch for Rock and once we started the bendryl and the shampoo a world of difference. |

| yes they did do a skin scraping a couple weeks ago and everything was ok with that and they put her on the benadrill for allergy at that time and she is a inside furbaby so she doesn't go out alot but my new baby refuses to go potty on the pads so we have to go outside so Mattie is exsposed to the outside more than she has ever been before. I put them both on the chicken and rice diet for the last week because the little one got diearea from her shots and Bordetella and she gave it to Mattie. There reg food is Mattie has Iams little bites and Adore has Halo puppy formula with a eigth of a little ceasors mixed in so they will eat the dry food. Mattie has had a really bad year for her health she had both knees done and when she was having her teeth done for the first time she came out of anasteasha with a clapsed trac and now she has a hard time breathing and walking. I don't trust anyone with my furbabys and I watch the Dr every move when we go there Ive change 2 times this yr. I would not recommend you get your babys teeth done fine something thhat works for the tarter and use that every day religiously and take good care of your babys teeth so you don't have to go through what I am. She was a great Furperson until her teeth cleaning. (Sorry about the noval) |
