| My dog has little black things on skin My 4 year old male Yorkie has little black things on his skin. I took a flea comb and combed the area around his spine around the tailbone and they came off in the comb. This happened last year, the vet said they are not bugs, possibly an allergy or something. It went away for a while, and now it's back. I bathe him every two weeks, I'm wondering what they heck it is. He doesn't itch at it. But it's bumpy. I would bathe him less, but he stinks after two weeks. I wonder if he is allergic to his shampoo or something. I bathe him with Minksheen and he eats Wellness dog food. My other dog does not have it. He has a silky coat. Please advise.

| My little girl had some spots similar to your pups. Her spots looked like large freckles or dirt spots. I took her to the vet and I am glad I did because it was actualy a type of staff infection. It took to rounds of meds to get rid of it. |

| My dogs has little black spots on skin OMG a staph infection? Really? Did your dog smell funny? I'm wondering if that is why he smells kind of yucky. I better get him to the vet right away. Thanks

| No, she did not smell funny at all. She did however loss alittle bit of weight and for a 4 lb yorkie thats alot, but the spots never seemed to bother her. I don't even know how she got the infection. I never take them anywhere but a few friends and family houses and the groomer. My vet said they can pick up staph germs from anywhere. Luckly only one of my yorkies got it. |

| It sounds like flea dirt, that is a common area for it to gather, right above the tail and on top of the tush area.

| my dog has little black spots on his skin Ok, so I took Gizmo to the vet today. He has some type of pimples, the vet is not exactly sure of the cause, could be an allergy. Gave him two shots, have to bathe him in benzoyl peroxide sulfur once a week and he is on antibiotics. He did say it is not fleas or anything like that. Said some little dogs are prone to skin infections. Hopefully this will clear up soon.

| Wishing Gizmo well and hope he has a speedy recovery and it does not reappear after treatment. |

| My little one is on antibiotics right now for a staph infection. I took her to the vet a couple of weeks ago to get her shots and I showed it to the vet. He didn't seem too concerned, said to put neosporin on it. Ya, try getting her to sit still for that. So, I took her back and they gave her 2 weeks worth of antibiotics. He said that some dogs are prone to it and no matter what you do it will keep coming back. The meds seem to be working, the spots are going away. On top of that I changed her food to an allergy formula. I can't rave enough about that.

| I started her on Natural Balance sweet potato and venison. It has no grain in it and very limited ingredients.
