Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | "WebVet" - like WebMD for Pets...someday? Well, it needs a lot more info added, as far as I can tell (brought up nothing for liver shunt) - but someday, this could be a really nice search engine for pet medical issues, hopefully. Looks like they also may add some services as well... Webvet.com - Pet News, Information, and Education

| Here's a really good site for info......http://www.thepetcenter.com/gen/fap.html.....they have lots of good info, very much like an internet vet although nothing can replace an actual vet but this site seems to be very helpful |

I was reading that and wondered what you'd think of it. They are saying that in the May 1, 2008 issue of JAVMA, it states that dogs who eat homecooked food have more medical problems. I supposed if they eat pizza and cheeseburgers and fries that must be true but a balanced homecooked diet??? I can't get into the article but I might see if Ellie's vet read it.

| Hahaha....being the foodie that you are, Ann, it must be good if their nutrition advice is agreeable with you. I've only used it for a couple of look-ups but it seems to be a good site. We need all the tools we can find when we have questions about our babies. The more information we have, the better. I always google around before posting a question here or if someone brings up a topic I'm not familiar with. People just need to remember not to rely on what one site says about any given topic. I always look for several sites to be in agreement before I put much faith in the answer. The internet has some great info but is often contradictory so folks have to be careful. | Yes, I've visited that site a few times; some good info there. If someone wants to go the holistic route, here's a site I've bookmarked......Everglo Natural Veterinary Services Dr. Gloria Dodd's site. She's a holistic vet. The more I look into it, the more I'm considering the holistic approach with my dogs but haven't really 'made the leap' yet. |
