| Canadai Formula Change. I do not personally use Canadai but know that many of you do. This was just posted to the rescue yahoo group I belong to. Canidai has changed it's forumula and apparantly not for the good. Just wanted to give those that feed it the heads up. Cross posted below. Elaine I was just reading that Canidae has changed their formula so I wanted to give you heads up. I know some of you feed it. It doesn't sound like it is a "good thing" change either. Here's the link to the discussion. Alert for Canidae Users: Formula Changes - Rottweiler Discussion Forums |

| Thanksfor the link. Now I have to find something else that Murphy likes. Do you know if it only the dry that they changed or did they change the ingredients in the canned, too. ? I guess I'll check their website.

| I just went to their site. They did not change their canned formula. Since I don't understand the changes they made to the dry it will be interesting to see what everyone else thinks.

| I think the food is also made at Diamond now (or there was some talk about it). Hopefully it is just a rumor. I am questioning these decisions and don't think they are good ones. Diamond has had quality control problems in the past.

| Oh no! I feed mine Canidae...well I just sent them a nasty gram...well in a nice way. I am a regulatory affairs supervisor and I know that the term gluten free has not yet been defined by the FDA therefore it is pretty much still illegal for them to claim this on the label. Alot of vendors are getting away with adding this to their label now but eventually will need to change the way they label things when we receive final regulations. The FDA should have final regulations on the term "gluten free" by the end of this year. |

| Oh, good grief!!! Now what do I change to? Guess I'll be going back to Pet Food information, manufacturers, products, ingredients, cat, dog, pet food. and seeing what other 5-star food I can feed.

| Okay, that is not the site that has that list. Does anyone know the site that has the 5-star dog food list?

| I recently changed Garrett from Canidae to FROMM Chicken A La Veg and HE LOVES IT...... I mixed the 2 for transition purposes and he picked out the FROMM and left the CANIDAE in the bowl. He'll still eat the Canidae if mixed with canned, but definately prefers the FROMM taste for taste. My pet store here carries samples of most of the dry brands they carry, so ask if yours does.

| Anyone try Wellness? If so, which one? A friend of mine has fed hers the fish one, and it makes her furbaby gassy with a fishy smell. I know I wouldn't get that one. I want to switch mine from Canidae, as soon as this current bag is done. Your suggestions would be so helpful. Pam |

| I am still using the Canidae, but you can tell the formula has been changed, their stool is not as firm as it was before and I have been mixing Eukanuba puppies small bites in with it. |
