| shedding and dry skin Do any of you have any suggestions I could use for my 7 month old Harry. He is shedding excessively and his skin seems to be dry and looks like he has dandruff. Thank you for your help. |

| Start with using a good quality food. It's the foundation for any dog's health. Also, use a good quality dog shampoo and conditioner. Don't buy a flea shampoo and you shouldn't need to bathe him more than once weekly. Make sure the shampoo is rinsed thoroughly but you don't need to rinse the conditioner as much. I water down my conditioner (about 10 to 1) and just put it on, work it into the coat and just leave it in. Also, flaxseed oil is a very good supplement for the skin and coat. It has made a real improvement in my dogs. Hope some of these suggestions help. |

I would also recommend adding some Flax oil to the food. I use it w/ mine and SWEAR by the stuff. It helps with skin and coat, is good for their eyes and recent studies indicate that it is beneficial in preventing certain types of cancer. | |

| I started mine on the flax oil mainly for the skin and coat. The more I've read about it, the more I'm happy with going with it. There are many benefits to using it. In fact, I use it myself now |

Yorkie Talker | shampoo & conditioner My little Zoe doesn't shed or flakes, but she does get itchy if we bathe her without conditioner. Occasionally I forget the conditioner, so I just spray her with some Pantene Leave-in Conditioner or No More Tangles when she dries off. I also got some Cortizone spray from a pet store that always does the trick. |
