| Others more knowledgeable will jump in but the difference is the prey model uses meat with bone in, like in the wild and the premade diets grind up the bone and usually add fruits and vegetable to the patties.

| I started feeding a prey model raw diet and yorkiechick1 did a great job of explaining the difference. I basically shop for my dogs at the grocery store just like I shop for my family except that I don't buy them the best cuts of meat or chicken. For instance, my family likes chicken breast but I normally feed the dogs thighs and legs but I can feed them a breast if I want to. I typically feed whatever it is with some bone since them benefit in several ways from that. I also want to say that it is not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be when I first started and it makes me really feel good that I am feeding my dogs the best possible diet for them and they enjoy eating so much more than they used to. My older collie was always underweight and a picky eater and the difference in her is amazing! I've only been feeding them prey model for 2 weeks now but I'm truly a convert! If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask and feel free to pm me! |
