I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Lots of Snorting with Excitement? Tatum snorts quite a bit when she gets excited, for example, when I come home and walk in the door or sometimes when I play with her. I've also noticed it while I'm standing up and giving her a treat and she is on the ground looking up at me....sometimes she will make the snorting sound then too. These are the ONLY times she does it though. I have started coming down to her level and sitting on the floor when I give her treats so that she doesn't have to look up at me and this seem to help her from making the snorting sound...but again, she still does it when she gets excited about something. I'm sure you all know the next question I am going to ask....do you think this could be CT? God, I don't even want to GO THERE... She has already been diagnosed with a grade 3 LP in both back legs and if she were to be diagnosed with CT too, I'd probably just lose it all together My little girl doesn't need anymore problems I did mention this snorting thing to one of the nurses when she was at the vet being diagnosed with LP, but she just passed it off as being reverse sneezing...however, she never heard Tatum make this noise. Tatum does have an EXTREMELY short nose/snot. It is very, very short - almost non existent at times it seems, LOL. I thought that Stedman's was short, but that was before I got Tatum. I don't know if her having a really short nose could have anything to do with it? I will try and get a good video of her doing it and post it. I've got to get her excited to do it though and right now the little sweetheart's asleep I don't particularly LIKE having to make her do it, but I need to just so you guys can hear it and give me your opinion on it. I've watched videos online of dogs with CT and their snorting and some of them sound like Tatum, but then again I've also watched videos online of dogs doing the reverse sneezing and some of them sounded like her also...so I am just plain confused I will definitely have the vet look into this the next time we go back, but in the meantime I just wanted everyone's opinions on it. Thanks in advance

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Doesn't Tatum have the real short baby doll face like my Pixie? Pixie will do that to and she sort of snores or makes nasally sounds when sleeping. I was told it could be becase they have the shorter nose. Hope that's all it is.

I swear she is a camel lol she drinks the water as fast as she can and i think she snorts it LMAO!!! I have heard said that if it's like a goose honk it's CT(collapsed trechea) Does she stop if you startle her? If i tell Daisy to stop she will lol. Hope all is well with her

She doesn't seem to make any noise when she sleeps (she has before, but not too often) - it's mainly just when she gets really excited or when she tilts her head back to look up at something. God I really do hope that her having a super short nose/snout is all it is

Here is a site that explains CT, which is short for Collapsed Trachea. Tracheal collapse, collapsed trachea

It's just so weird to me because Stedman never does this. He HAS done it before, but only a few times since we've had him for over 2 years now. Tatum does it every single time she is excited, or when she tilts her little head back...so it just makes me worry Course, I worry about everything!
