| Dark skin underneath back legs I just noticed a couple days ago that underneath my dogs hind legs the skin color has turned black and is kinda dry. He is about six months old. What could this be?

| Not that this is your problem, because I don't know.........but I had to giggle remembering when Rusty was a pup. (He is now 3 years+) I saw that his backside was turning black too and thought he had some horrible disease that wasn't in my yorkie books and the closer I looked, it was just dirt that he had gotton into LOL! I don't know how he got that dirt on him, but he did and a good scrubbing took it away. Silly me for not knowing he needed to be scrubbed not just splashed LOL! Oh well, he's a foo foo, so a splash should work huh? LOL

| I actually just got done giving him a bath right now and it wasn't as bad, so you are probably right. I will just scrub more next time. Thanks so much! I guess I worry to much about my furbaby. http://www.dogster.com/dogs/768279

| sammy has a small patch of the dark dryish skin on one of his back legs. i have tried to wash it off, but it is definetly a birthmark of some sort. no hair grows on it. so i have to keep his back legs with longer hair of you will see a patch with no hair. does anyone know hat this is or how it caused? i thought something was wrong with him when i spotted this. |

| Could be birthmarks.... I know Rusty now has little ink spot dots that will not scrub off.... ever seen the big dogs with spots on their bellys? I would not be surprised if that happened in Yorkies too! Always something new to learn with these babies.
