I switched my little Sophie on to Evo from solid gold. She seemed to have lost interest in the "gold" after trying the evo she loved it!! During the sample it didn't seem to bother her at all. So we decided to buy a bag. I was mixing the evo with her current food. We had been giving it a go for a month. Since we had started the bag it has been causing digestive havoc on the girl. She has been pooping all over the house. I thought it was just that it was new, but still after a month? Is it still too new, or should I just stop. Could it be that it is too much protein? Some guidance would be appreciated. But it seems like after reading around...innova/evo is having some issue right now too. So I don't know what to do. If I homecook what sort of supplements do I need to get and add to the food.

Yes, the amount of protein in EVO is too high for a Yorkie. Several people have tried it and had problems...I won't use it. You might try the regular Innova if you want a high quality food.

Our two yorkies will react to sudden diet changes terribly. We like to feed the Innova soft food and Royal Cannin #28 for Yorkies for their hard food. Never feed ours from the table either. When we switched to the senior Innova they didn't even skip a beat. Always get a premium food and quality treats which aren't too high in carbs. We give Butler Lean Treats for a goodie, but only 1/2 of one (Maybe 1/4 for an infant such as yours). They are higher in protien but if you limit the treats (no more than 2 a day)they are good and don't have all the crap the jungle of treats out there do. Butler Lean Treats seem to be hard to find in my area. Our vet is the only place I can find them. Talk with your vet to find the percentages of carbs, protiens, fats etc; for your little one. Never take chances with such a valuable friend

Just wondering if you have ever checked out the ingredients in Butler Lean Treats?
Ingredients: Skinless Chicken, Chicken Liver, Corn, Chicken By-Product Meal, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Wheat Flour, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Phosphoric Acid, Salt, Potassium Sorbate and Calcium Propionate and BHA and Citric Acid (Preservatives), Iron Oxide.

Butler treats are obviously not pure organic nor without some of the preservatives etc. They are offered as a once or twice a day treat not a full diet.

My vet reccommended Lean Treats also. We can only get them at the vets. Since they are soft I break then in half or threes. I just posted about a new treat I found today. It's hard to find treats that are good.
