| Yorkie shedding? We had to give Smokey a bath cause he got poop stuck in his hair. When I was brushing him, I noticed he was shedding A LOT. I know yorkies are supposed to shed, so is there something wrong with him? Could he be mixed with something? Is it possible that he's not a yorkie at all? I mean, it doesn't matter WHAT he is, I just don't think it's normal. Anyone else experienced this?

| If he only shed when you brush him, then it is normal. Just like your hair break when you brush your hair too. So, don't worry too much! He is adorable in your avatar!! He looks all Yorkie to me!!! By the way, Yorkie doesn't shed. |

| When I brush out Harley a little bit of hair comes out, but very minimal compared to all the hair on his body. Otherwise he doesn't shed as say a cat would.

| I know yorkies don't shed that's why I was concerned. I think I accidently typed "supposed to" in my first post. Sorry someone was talking to me at the same time lol. That's actually not him in the avatar. I have two. The one I'm talking about is a puppy mill rescue and he really is beautiful, but sometimes I wonder if he's full yorkie.

| This is Smokey. He looks yorkie to me, but I wonder if he could be mixed with something. He looks like he's got a silky coat, but the other silky coated yorkies look like their hair is thin, but Smokey's is thicker than I'd expect. Anyways, here's a couple pics of him.

| That is so odd! I would really recommend using high end products made for dogs. I used to use Pantene on Barney and then the vet was like yeah you are nuts. I use these spa products for Barney- they have a whole line and I really trust them to make him pretty! www.happytails.com Try the comfy dog oatmeal shampoo and also Fur Butter- a deep conditioner Good luck!

| I use the shampoo for Chloe and it is awesome! You don't even need conditioner. http://www.touchofmink.com/prod_details.asp?id=15 A lot of YTers use this on their furbabies also. |
