| does anyone here feed raw food i'm new here and am feeding raw chicken, fish, pork, and beef to 3 mastiffs, 2 yorkies, 1 terrier/pointer mix to great results. the fur on my dogs is softer than most puppies fur and there is little to no "dog" smell. along with less waste i have seen no down side to this feeding method. i was just wondering who else feed their pets raw food. |

| There are several members here who have opted to feed raw diets, so I think you will be in good company. Welcome to YT! |

| There are a lot of us here who feed raw, myself included. I feed my two Yorkies the pre-made Primal raw and they love it. And I mean LOVE it!! Even my little 13 week old eats raw - my Vet approved it. I love the fact that their poo doesn't smell bad. Raw feed is expensive, but it's worth it in my opinion. The older Yorkie has been eating raw for months now and she has a gorgeous coat. By the time she is one it will be down to the floor for sure. I don't know anyone who feeds raw pork - I can't say anything about that because I don't know. Good luck with the raw diet.

| I have been feeding my babies raw for a short time and I already seen an improvement in them. Codie's allergies are almost non-existent and my Tia's tear staining is TOTALLY gone, yay!! Welcome to YT!

| I feed my new little guy Nature's Variety as found here: http://www.naturesvariety.com/conten...C46EVMX3EF263E The medallions are broken down into (approximately) 1 oz. patties, which defrost quickly and are then fed. He wolfs it down...he gets 2 or maybe 3 patties a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Everyone has me so afraid of the hypoglycemia thing, I make sure he has something in his bowl at all times, in this case Merrick dry puppy food. It has minimal cereal and gives him a bit of crunch. The whole mystique surrounding raw foods makes so much sense. Understanding what the ingredients may REALLY be in dog food is rather sickening. Then the recent scare regarding tainted prepared foods just about capped it off for me. Remember that the FDA/USDA only requires that manufacturers state what THEY put in the food: anything they purchase elsewhere doesn't have to be listed. It can be anything. Of any quality. I decided I want to do as "right" by this little guy as I can. I've never had a dog this small before; his size alone is enough to elicit strong parental responses and anxieties . Such a cutie . I will profess, however, to still having some misgivings about feeding him raw chicken bones - it goes against everything I've ever done for a dog in all the years I've had dogs. |

| Welcome to YT. I also feed raw - but I opt for The Honest Kitchen freeze-dried raw. I like the fact that it has vegetables in it (without grain). I worry about too high a protein content for the senstive digestive systems. I don't know about raw pork for Yorkies. I've always been told pork can be very dangerous for these little ones.

| Jambo likes crunchy food as he loves to chew/bite. When I completely thaw the medallions he does not like it. When I give it to him when it's a little harder he goes for it. The problem is he gets the means shivers because it makes him cold. |

| I've been feeding Lacy a raw diet for a year and a half. She's done great on it! I've always fed a premade raw - Nature's Variety. There are some prey-model feeders here too. I think there are quite a few raw-feeders on this site.

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | And, so it was with everyone who now feeds them with (relative) ease . Many, mine included, have done very well on RAW chicken bones for years. You just have to get over the misinformation we've been battered with from the commercial dog 'food-like-substance' industry.

| I just started my 5 on the prey model of feeding. So far, so good. I find myself excited to feed them just to see their reaction. They love it! My butcher at the local meat market is going to be getting some things in for me too. I haven't used rabbit yet.... the price is way up there. I'll have to find somewhere to get it where it isn't so expensive. |
