| Rash on Ears Kobe has some red bumps on the hairless side of his ear close to the ear tips. The bumps almost look like welts. He has had them for about a week and when I give him a bath or wipe his ears with ear wipes the bumps subside only you can still feel them under the skin. They get inflamed when he rubs his ears. Are there any home treatments for this? I read all the books and this doesn't seem like anything I am reading about. The inside of his ears are normal he just has these bumps on both ears only near the tips. Anyone know what this might be? He has had this before and it went away on its own only this time it seems to be lasting longer. The only thing I can think of is that it has gotten cold here recently so maybye he has an allergy to his sweaters he has been wearing or something? I am not sure. Any advice appreciated. Thank you! |

| I'm not sure what it can be unless like you say it's allergies. I'd probably take him to the vet if it doesn't get any better.

| Louie has developed something very similar we've been trying to figure out what it is, although louies skin issues consists of more than the ears... Louie has what seems to be very very dry skin, but when touching the skin u can feel tiny bumps all over his body including the tail and i believe around his nose area. We've been to the vet numerous time, had a skin scraping done...no parasites were found. He continues to itch occasionally causing hot spots but again there are no fleas or anything. Ive switched shampoos (cranberry fields seemed to make his skin worst actually) and his food, ive used aloe vera, added the missing link, he also uses an oil on his food containing omega 3, and we've taken corn and wheat out of diet. Any ideas?

| Yeast Infection I took him to the vet today and found out that he has a yeast infection in both ears. The vet gave us some ear wash and drops to treat the infection. He said the red rash is from itching and might have spread some of the yeast to the ear tips so I have to treat those with the drops too. He said yeast infections can be brought on by allergies so I have to keep trying to find things that might be causing the allergies. Thank you for your advice everyone! |
