| I think this is normal? Well we picked up ben about 2.5 hours ago, and he is doing great I let him explore his area and showed him where everything is. one question though. How long does it take for him to finally eat and drink? I think he is just getting used to his new home. Also is the vitamin supplement really needed? the breeder said to give him a whole tube of it and after he finishes it he will no longer need it. thanks so much. I will post pics later on tonight. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | its completely normal for him not to be interested in food or water right now. he's probably overwhelmed with all the new things. I'm sure he'll want to eat soon. Maybe put him in his crate or ex-pen with his food to give him a chance to eat and sleep. As for the nutrical i wouldn't give him the whole tube. He may not even need any of it. However, since you just brought him home and he's not eating, maybe give him a little pea size amount right now incase he doesn't want to eat for a little while. this will help tied him over and perhaps encourage him to eat.

| Everytime that I've heard the subject brought up they usually say not to give the supplement unless it's necessary. Congratulations on your new boy, and it may take him some time to get use to his new environment before he really starts to eat and drink.

| When I brought Romeo home he would not drink either, so I put a couple of drops of milk in the water to make it look milky and he drank it up. Only had to do it one time. I think it was a bowl thing. |

| How old is your new baby? I wouldn't worry right now, but just keep a close eye on him while he's still adjusting! |

| Congrats on your new baby boy It took Peanut some time to get used to his enviroment. He mostly nit picked when we brought him home. I noticed the pattern with him, he was eating at night...It won't be no time before hes eating like a little piggy and his personality starts showing. Peanut's Mommy |

| He's 14.5 weeks old and he is sleeping quite a bit. I have two children as well and it is really hard for them not to play with him so much. my kids are 7 and 4. but so far so good. |

| Water Odor Animals have an amazing sense of smell...heard dogs sense of smell is 3,000 times more sensitive than a human's sense. They can sense the odors in water and may need time to adjust to the water in your area. Maybe leave it out to get rid of some of the odors. We had a horse who would not drink water at horse shows unless it was brought from home. We brought along lots of 5 gallon buckets in the hot weather!
