| neuter my 6 months old yorkie hey guys, my puppy is a 6 months old yorkshire terrier, some people have been telling me that I should wait until 8-10 months before neutering so that they will have fully grown and to prevent the hormone imbalance? I am confused.. when should I neuter my pup? thanks |

| Yesterday!lol!! Just kidding; but I had sawyer neutered at 4 months, and he is fine. Sometimes breeders even neuter them before they send them home. The earlier you stop him from marking, the better it will be for you and him. if you do not intend to breed, there is no logical reason that I know of to have an unneutered male. It prevents running after females in heat, lowers aggression against other males, prevents testicular cancer, and as mentioned helps to stop or at least lower the urge to mark. They do not automatically get fat, and it is one of the best things you can do for your pet. Good luck.

| Welcome to yt. I'm going to get Rockie done also he is 6 months. Some people have had it done at 4 or 5 months. So 6 is not too early. |

| If I ever get a male, he'll be neutered ASAP..definitely by 4 months. The earlier the better I think

| I got my biewer at 5 1/2 mos..got him on a Sunday, had it set up to have him neutered that Monday..he's huge...a whole 6 lbs if even that, and 2 1/2 years old..so, no, won't get bigger, unless you feed him more...You want to get it done before they start lifting their legs..Our vet won't do them though until between the ages of 5=6 mos. unless they would happen to start lifting their legs sooner, at which he would do it then..He just said they're such small dogs to begin with, that they tend to be able to handle the anesthesia better if you wait until 5-6 mos |

| Winstin has been lifting his leg since he was 12 weeks old. It was so funny cause he would almost fall over. He just turned 5 months old and I had him neutered last week. He is doing great. I would go for it before he starts marking your house. It will not hurt him at all. By the way Welcome.
