| Floppy Ears? I was just wondering if a floppy ears are a clue as to how big a Yorkie might be. It seems like most of the pups that I have seen with them tend to be big. I am thinking of adding to the family. LOL The puppy I am looking at is 11 weeks and his ears aren't even up yet. Diesel's ears were up at 9 weeks and he is only 4.5 pounds. Now when I say big I mean bigger than the AKC standard of 7 pounds. Any thoughts?

| I think it has more to do with coat than size (silky vs THICK cotton). Loki's ears were taped but never shaved. Neither the breeder or our first groomer told us to shave them. Our current groomer said that if she knew us then she would have shaved his ears and they would be standing. I thought about it, and I actually love his uneven, floppy ears.

| I read through the post... Most of them seem to be on the bigger side. I thinik it would be intresting to see how much they each way. I am in no way saying anything negative. I just wonder if their is a connection between the 2.

| Diesel has a nice mixture or both silky and cottony and his ear were up at 9 weeks.

| My Cocoa's ears are floppy and he is 11 pounds. There may be a connection; not sure. I don't really know how to tell about his coat. I would assume its silky but, not sure.

| I don't think floppy ears have anything todo with size. My little man, Rocky, is 5.5lbs and has one ear up and one floppy. I have a friend who has a 10lb yorkie and his ears are up. I think it just depends on the dog. |

| I have also heard that if the cartilage breaks then the ear will never stand up. Oh well.. either way they are adorable.
