|  Hair underneath the belly..... Can you shave it?? When I put a harness on her and we go for a walk, the hair underneath her belly and underarms gets so matted. I am trying to grow her long so i dont want to cut it. But can i just shave the hair underneath? Do u guys generally shave the hair underneath the belly and underarms and keep the rest of the hair on the body long??? or maybe someone can suggest a harness that does not matt hair. Ive tried a vest and nylon harness and they both seem to matt her hair. Or maybe a brush thats easier to get the matts out? Thanks in Advance! |

it helps me in growing he coat out. Also for my boys who wear a belly band full time? I shave the hair where their belly band sits and you can't even tell! The girls I just shave their WHOLE belly and a little bit up the sides and the hair on top grows and covers it and you cant tell its shaved. | Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member  | As a groomer i frequently get requests to shave the belly area to prevent matting. You leave the sides long to cover it up and no one knows. I've never shaved one like Breny does (LOL) for belly bands but it makes sense if the band is on all the time. Her first picture is what i do when i shave the underside.

| O i forgot to add.... i got so clipper happy that i decided to shave all my dogs.... my jack russell and my pom lol!!! i have to show u guys the picture as soon as i find my camera. its hilarious!!!!!!! my poor jack russell.... he seemed like he was ashamed of his haircut at the beach today lol!!!!!! |

| What a great idea to shave the belly area! Raider's hair is very cottony and his belly is always getting matted and he pees all over it too. I'll have to give this a try! Thanks for the tip, Breny!
