Donating YT 30K Club Member | Please say a prayer or a positive thought Tomorrow morning I am taking a lady I have recently befriended's 13 year old Yorkie, Nikki, to have his dental done and most of his teeth removed. The lady is 82 and rescued him 2 years ago and has since fallen on hard times and Nikki is her whole life. I am so worried something will happen. I am having the vet do the blood work first and take all precautions to ensure a safe procedure but he is 13. I would really appreciate keeping him in your prayers and thoughts. Thanks

| It sounds like this is something he really needs to have done. He'll be much better off for having it done now. You're a wonderful friend to do this for her. I will send prayers and lots of positive thoughts for you all tomorrow.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks! He really needs it done as he wasn't eating when I met her and I have been giving her California Natural canned and he will eat that. When I took him for his rabies the vet said his teeth were rotted in his mouth and his breath is horrible. I know he will feel so much better after he gets through this. I feel since I do not have a rescue the least I can do is prevent Nikki from going back in to rescue and devastating his Mom.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | UPDATE! Nikki made it through surgery. It was very extensive dental work. All teeth were extracted and the pockets were 9 cm deep. They said it was an 800.00 surgery but they would only charge me 400 as quoted. I though that was extremely nice. I don't know how I would have covered 800.00! They said it will be 14 days before he is back to normal. We can pick him up after 4. So thanks so much for all your prayers and thoughts.

| I am so glad he's out of surgery! What a wonderful thing for you and the vet to do. I'm almost in tears. He needed that so much obviously. Thank you, Patti, for being the generous and caring person you are.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks!! When we went to get him, they showed us his teeth, OMG that poor baby. They were so rotten and disgusting. They had to put stitches in and he was still pretty groggy. The vet gave a 560.00 professional discount to keep it at the 400. I couldn't believe a vet could be so generous! He treats a lot of the animals from the shelter I volunteer at so you can see what a great guy he is. If I didn't love my vet so much I would switch to him. Thanks again for the prayers, his Mom was just a wreck all day and was very touched when I told her YT was praying for Nikki. Pic is of Nikki and his Mom.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks I just couldn't let him suffer. I went to see him today and he is like a new dog. Even with all his teeth pulled and stitches he was eagerly eating something he hasn't done since I met him several months ago. He hopefully will gain some weight now and his kisses are so sweet instead of unbearable.
